SPECIAL EVENTS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Easter Egg Hunt and Picnic Sat April 3

  • Help the needy and disadvantaged children in our community participate in a fun-filled day, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ

  • The Mission and volunteers will hide thousands of candy-filled eggs and present the Easter story

  • There will be age-appropriate activities at Bethel Village and an egg hunt with lots of prizes awarded

  • Children will receive an Easter basket and other goodies

  • Volunteers are needed to help gather supplies, approach sponsors for needed items and prizes, prepare baskets, get the word out to families, fix lunch, hide eggs, manage parking, and more.

Annual Easter Dinner Sun April 4

  • Help the needy and disadvantaged men, women and families in our community receive a traditional Easter meal and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ

  • The Mission and volunteers will prepare the dinner, serve the meal restaurant-style, and share the evening with those who have no place to go for Easter

Family Food Festival Thurs June 10

  • Help the needy and disadvantaged families in our community receive a personalized food box, helping to meet the nutrition needs of children when school gets out for the summer

  • The festival will feature dozens of agencies, who will bring information and activities for the families

  • The Mission and volunteers will sign up families for Klothes for Kids, prepare food boxes from food donated through the US Postal Service food drive, and minister to families for the summer

Klothes for Kids Jun - Aug

  • Help the needy and disadvantaged families in our community prepare for back-to-school by providing school uniforms and school supplies

  • Families will receive an appointment time to shop in our free store along with a personal shopper just before school starts back in August

  • Collections will need to take place all summer long (in most needs are small boys pants, jeans and shoes).

  • We need new and gently used school uniforms and after school clothes, and all types of school supplies

  • Your church or group can conduct a drive for a specific need: have an "Undie Sunday", or invite all staff members at the office bring a pair of shoes to the next staff meeting

  • The Mission and volunteers will sign up families for Klothes for Kids, sort items and set up the store, provide entertainment while families wait for their turn, check families in, serve as personal shoppers, check families out, help kids try on shoes, and close down the site after the event
