Is the Mission
moving?
The Mission has
operated in its current location since the 1980's after pressure
from the City for it to move from its former Beach Drive location
where is was founded in 1972. The current location is in an
area close to government agencies, public transportation, and temporary
day labor pools. The staff and board of directors have continually
worked to improve and upgrade the Mission's facilities downtown,
and thus, is currently one of the best looking buildings along the
6th Street corridor.

No one can force the
Mission to move, and it is our hope that we can remain included in
the discussions about its current location and operations.
Currently, one of the Mission's board members is serving on the
City's task force to help find solutions to the perceived problem
of vagrants downtown. Mission will continue to serve the poor,
neglected, homeless, and needy in the name of Christ, bringing
hope to those without it.
Thank
you to all those who are standing with the Mission with your words
of encouragement, prayers, and your gifts. It is our prayer that
in everything we do, we glorify Christ. "So, let's not get
tired of doing what is good. At just the right time
we will reap a harvest if we don't give up," Gal 6:9
