To get involved in the 2nd Annual Festival of Trees, contact the Development office of the Rescue Mission at 215-9007. We're already making plans for 2005!

Panama City's First Ever Festival of Trees was held December 9-11th and proved to be a successful first-time fundraising event for the Panama City Rescue Mission. More than 25 schools, groups and clubs donated 34 decorated trees and wreaths that were judged in a competition and sold in a silent auction. The more than $7,000 in proceeds will assist Bethel Village Home for Women and Children, in operating funds, supplies and equipment.

Courtney Hayes, Sheriff Frank McKeithen, Larry Perry, Ted Shumate, Tammy Stalnaker and David Lady served as judges awarding ribbons based on creativity, effort and appeal.

The Cat in the Hat tree was designed by Toddler's Haven in Lynn Haven.

Front: The residents of Lisenby on Lake Caroline handmade these beautiful ornaments.

In addition to the tree show and auction, the Festival of Trees featured holiday and gospel music, specialty shops, a raffle, a gift auction, mini horses, pictures with Santa, Santa's workshop, candle dipping, Panama City Artists Show, and free rides on the Orbitron Gravity Ring.
